Performance
The first of the GLB's three trim levels receive 221 horsepower from a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder system. The top GLB trim is outfitted with a 302-horsepower alternative. Both pair with an eight-speed auto, dual-clutch transmission. The 2023 GLC is exclusively available with a turbo 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that delivers 255 horsepower. This engine is associated with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Appearance
If you compare the 2023 GLB to the GLC side by side, the aesthetic differences are apparent. The smaller GLB stands tall with a boxy profile and a gentle curve through the hood—the wide grille pairs with almost-rectangular headlights outlined by an LED ribbon. Dramatic molding spans both bumpers and the lower door panels. Conversely, the GLC has a more curvaceous profile with smooth, slightly defined haunches and metallic accents across the entire lower body. The chrome-outlined grille is bisected horizontally by a chrome bar, and the beautifully angled headlights are enhanced with an upper LED ribbon.
Features
While both of these Mercedes-Benz crossovers are two-row models, the GLB is available with an optional third row in select trim levels. The GLB is also equipped with standard or available features like a wireless charging pad, heated seats, a head-up display, a heated steering wheel, smart device app connectivity, leather upholstery, parking assistance, a household power outlet, paddle shifters, a 10.25-inch driver's instrumentation digital screen, and a 10.25-inch infotainment system display. The GLC is available with all of these features, and it also may be outfitted with a tri-zone auto climate control system, upgraded leather seats, a flat-bottom sport steering wheel, and others.
