About The Samaritan Inn

The Samaritan Inn Overview
The Samaritan Inn is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1984, and they offer a comprehensive homeless program that serves as more than just a shelter where homeless people can spend the night.
Mission of The Samaritan Inn

The Samaritan Inn's mission is to help willing homeless people gain dignity and independence. They start by providing a no-cost, safe, and clean place to live. While men, women, and families are kept separate, they make sure families are kept together and do not separate fathers from the rest of the family.
Their facility is large and comfortable and includes a dining room where three well-balanced meals are served daily. Other areas of the facility include a playroom, computer lab, classrooms, a chapel, playground, laundry facilities, and a kennel for the resident's dogs. In addition to a place to stay and food, personal hygiene products are provided as well.

Residents are required to take part in job readiness and financial literacy classes, and they must also meet one-on-one with their professional caseworkers to develop an individual action plan and goals.
The Samaritan Inn has around 160 people sleeping there any given night, and around 1 out of every 3 people there are children. The Samaritan Inn also provides counseling and childcare services.
